Stayed here overnight before catching the ferry to Isle Royale. Convenient location, staff was helpful from check-in, the gift store and the small cafeteria counter (we arrived late so the diner was closed). We had flat bread pizza there for a late dinner which was decent. Grounds were nice and although the lodge was under renovation everything was functional and nice. Due to time limit we didn't take advantage of the $5 casino coupon each of us was given or the pool and spa unfortunately. The room was clean and Nice, no smoke odor in our smoke free room though smoking is allowed on premise. Overall a good but limited experience.
Not as good as it use to be silver members demoted to bronze so to don't get your bday rate anymore food in restaurant was a let down tried going a few times after my birthday and it's just not the same had way more fun before the remodel. I use to love going every weekend now when I'm asked I'd rather stay here.
While the Lodge and Casino isn't the most up to date place I've been, I have been coming back over the years from time to time and the management does keep putting money back into the place to keep it running as smooth as possible. All of the staff are very friendly, the wild rice soup from the restaurant is EXCELLENT, and the casino is big enough to have a good time over the weekend. If your in the area, plan to stay a weekend sometime and check out what the Lodge and the area has to offer.
Hotel has been renovated and the rooms and casino are beautiful! The pool and hot tub are awesome and they are even accessible with a chair lift to lower them into the pool. Restaurant always has great food!
Fun gaming experience. Sincere customer service from their students, locals were ok. Nights around here can get a bit weird, but what casino isn't.
